Where do successful treasure hunters find all those coins, rings, relics and treasures? They find them anywhere people congregated, which is practically everywhere. One learns of these places through research. Research will help you locate the good sites & will increase the value of your old finds.
Researching a site, whether it is the boom towns, old parks, playgrounds, etc. can be fun & exciting. Then to locate the site & come home with your treasures is beyond belief. A good place to get started is your local library, the Internet & museums. On the top of my list are local historical societies. These can be very helpful in locating a specific boom town in their area. Not all small towns have a historical society. Another good source would be old newspaper articles. The list is endless. Treasure found by accident represents but a small percentage of that located by persons using good research practices and techniques.
