Ferry was founded during the late 1890s. It was thrown up almost overnight, a ramshackle collection of crude log and false front buildings bordering a dusty main street.
It got its share of traffic during those early years, most of it heading north into British Columbia and Alaska. But when the mining boom slowed so did the town of Ferry. By 1910 it was on its way out, and before long Ferry had passed into history.
Today there is hardly a sign of that once busy camp, some depressions remain where once a building had stood. But the Ferry of yesteryear is only a memory in history gone by.
